Stanley P. Stahl


Visiting Professor of Law. Professor Stahl earned his A.B. at the University of Miami in 1967 and his J.D. at New York Law School in 1970, where he served as articles editor of the NY Law Forum.He served in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1971 to 1974 on active duty and retired from the Reserves in 1990. After his active duty stint, he went into civil practice where he remained for 34 years. For many years he has been a certified civil trial attorney in the state of New Jersey. He served on Rutgers School of Law–Camden's  adjunct faculty for approximately 14 years before coming onboard as a full-time visiting professor in 2008. His teaching is directed to areas covered by his extensive trial experience. He teaches Pretrial Advocacy, Trial Advocacy, and Medical Malpractice Litigation, as well as instructing and co-advising the law school's Intramural Mock Trial Competition and Trial Advocacy Competition Team. Professor Stahl was awarded New Professor of the Year honors as voted by students at the May 2009 commencement. He has also been recognized by his peers; he received the 2004 Trial Bar Award, "For Distinguished Service in the Cause of Justice" presented by Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ). He has also been recognized as a NJ Super Lawyer since 2005. Professor Stahl is admitted to the bars of the Supreme Courts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the United States as well as the bar of the District of Columbia.
