Friedman earned her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from New York University.
She is a member of the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York bars. Ms. Friedman
teaches Professional Responsibility and co-teaches the Marshall-Brennan
Fellowship in Constitutional Literacy. A fellow of the New Jersey State Bar
Foundation, Ms. Friedman directs the Street Law Pro Bono Project, through which
law students make approximately 1,000 contacts with young people and vulnerable
adults each semester, providing practical law-related education. She also
administers other pro bono and public interest programming and assists
informally with public sector career development at the law school. Ms.
Friedman is a Trustee of New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and serves
on the Board of Directors of Camden's LEAP Academy University Charter School.
With Craig Livermore of NJ LEEP, she presented "Street Law: Engaging Urban
Youth" at the American Bar Association's Law-Related Education Conference in
October 2009. Also in October 2009, with Rebecca Baehr, she presented "Using
Pro Bono to Launch a Public Interest Career: Working with Low-Income Clients"
at the Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair.
