Clinical Assistant Professor of Law.Professor Schalick earned her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of
Richmond, M.S. in public policy from Rutgers University, and J.D. from Rutgers
School of Law–Camden. Professor Schalick
is the founder and director of the Child and Family Advocacy Clinic. She also teaches Child Abuse and Neglect; Family Law; Children and the
Law; Legislative Process; the Domestic Violence Clinic; and both introductory
and advanced legal writing courses. Professor Schalick is also a consultant for the Child Abuse Research Education
and Services (CARES) Institute at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Prior to her appointment, Professor Schalick served as special counsel for
Child Welfare Policy at the New Jersey Department of Human Services. She was also the assistant counsel for the
Democratic Majority Office of the New Jersey General Assembly, and began her
career as an Independence Foundation Public Interest Law Fellow as a staff attorney representing abused and neglected children at the Support Center for
Child Advocates in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
