Clinical Associate Professor of Law. Professor Rodriguez joined the
Rutgers-Camden faculty in 2006, after teaching as an adjunct in California. She is the
author, most recently, of Letting Students Teach Each Other: Using Peer
Conferences in Upper-Level Writing, 13 Fla. Coastal L. Rev. (Winter
2012). She has also contributed to the Michael Hunter Schwartz-edited series of
books on the teaching of law. She earned her B.A., M.A., and J.D. degrees from the
State University of New York at Buffalo.
For six years, Professor Rodriguez, an instrument-rated commercial pilot,
practiced appellate and regulatory law with the Federal Aviation Administration
in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. She left federal practice in
1994 to cofound a legal research and writing company, which she operated for
over seven years. During that time, she represented the Animal Protection
Institute, now Born Free USA, a national nonprofit animal advocacy organization
in Sacramento, California. Professor Rodriguez, who also
publishes in animal law, has testified before Congress and has been quoted in
numerous media outlets on issues involving animals. In 2012, she was appointed
to the Executive Committee of the Association of American Law Schools's section
on Animal Law.
