Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus. Professor Pomorski
earned his master in law in 1956 and his doctor of law summa cum laude
in 1968, both at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has been a staff
writer for the periodical Law and Life in Poland and also was a
practicing attorney as well as a research associate at the Institute of
Legal Sciences (Polish Academy of Sciences) prior to coming to the
United States. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School.
From 1989 to 1994, Professor Pomorski served on the Board of Trustees
of the National Council for Soviet and East European Research. Among
his principal publications are "American Common Law and the Principle Nullum Crimen Sine Lege,"
"Criminal Law Protection of Socialist Property in the USSR,"
"Communists and Their Criminal Laws," "Restructuring the System of
Ownership in the USSR," and "On Multiculturalism, Concepts of Crime,
and the 'De Minimis' Defense."
