Rutgers Law-Camden is a

basis. Rutgers Law-Camden professors are leaders in diverse fields such as international
law, health law, intellectual property, family and women's rights law, and
state constitutional law, and have argued before The Hague and the
U.S. Supreme Court.
An innovative approach to academics focuses on providing a
diverse range of options that allow students to gain critical--and personally
rewarding--experience. Our clinical and pro bono programs merge the practical
theories and skills of lawyering, and deliver approximately 40,000 hours of
legal assistance to the Delaware Valley each year. The clinics provide a unique
opportunity to gain first-hand insight by representing a wide array of
disadvantaged individuals, organizations, and groups. Through our 14 pro bono and public interest
programs, Rutgers Law-Camden students have the chance to work with lawyers, the
courts and the public, and to share in the satisfaction of helping clients with
nowhere else to turn.
The curriculum provides students with a critical foundation
in law, and also encompasses emerging issues in vital areas such as
environmental, health, and intellectual property law. The Legal Analysis,
Writing, and Research Program is ranked nationally for its innovative teaching of
these fundamental lawyering skills, which are emphasized
throughout a Rutgers Law-Camden education.
Located on 31 tree-lined acres, Rutgers-Camden
is an attractive urban environment at the base of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.
Courthouses often become classrooms as Camden's federal, bankruptcy, and state
courthouses are within blocks from campus.
The law school facility is especially ideal for legal learning with its
state-of-the-art classrooms, a fully appointed moot courtroom, and comfortable spaces
for studying, student organizations, and social life. It
also enables Rutgers to more effectively serve the community through its
clinics and centers.
Legal education at Rutgers will rise to a new level of
national prominence in the coming year, as the faculties at Camden and Newark
unify and become Rutgers Law, adopting a single curriculum, with one set of
criteria for enrolling students, from distinct and flourishing campuses. Under
this Rutgers Law model, there are increased opportunities for students at each
location to expand options for study, to advance career searches, and to learn
from and with a wider selection of world-class Rutgers faculty. We
