The Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience offers a course of study that provides fundamental and comprehensive training in the areas of cell biology and neuroscience. The major objective of this program is to prepare students for graduate studies in cell biology and neuroscience; entry into professional schools in medicine, dentistry, or other health-related fields; or employment in industrial and pharmaceutical companies.
Learning Goals
Students will:
I. master factual and conceptual
knowledge in cell biology and neuroscience that will provide a solid foundation
for success in advanced training and professional careers;
II. develop an ability to
summarize, integrate, and organize information; and
III. use scientific reasoning to
evaluate the potential for current research and new discoveries to improve our
understanding of cell biology and neuroscience and its relevance to human
health and to our society.
