American
military forces have played an important role in our domestic and
international history and will continue to have significant involvement
in policy arenas relating to national security and international
relations.
The interdisciplinary military
science minor, administered by the Departments of Aerospace Science,
Military Science, and Naval Science is available in four tracks:
- Tracks
AS, MS, and NS are the methods through which students become contracted
cadets or midshipmen, committed to participating in any of the three
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs (Air Force, Army, Navy)
with the intent to commission as an officer into the Armed Forces after
graduation.
- Track NC is open to all students providing them
with a broad perspective on the military with analysis of national
security affairs and all service branches of the Armed Forces from a
historical and social scientific perspective.
Students
who plan to complete the requirements for the minor should consult an
undergraduate adviser in the School of Arts and Sciences or any of the
professors for the Air Force, Army, Navy, or ROTC programs.
