The department sponsors the Africana Studies Scholars Project, a two-semester, 12-credit (01:014:497-498) senior-year course for honors majors in the discipline. To be eligible, students must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or better in Africana studies by the end of the junior year. They also must have completed 01:014:103 Introduction to
Africana Studies, 01:014:203 or 204 The Black Experience in America,
01:014:233 Introduction to the
Methodology of Africana Studies, and three electives at the 300 or 400 level.
