The minor in Africana studies consists of six semester courses (of at least 3 credits each) offered by the department, including 01:014:103 Introduction to Africana Studies, 01:014:203 or 204 The Black Experience in America, and 01:014:490 Seminar in Africana Studies. At least three of these six courses must be at the 300 level or above. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses counted toward the minor. To complement the minor in Africana studies, the department recommends, but does not require, two semesters of instruction in a foreign language taught by the Department of Africana Studies.
