Majors must complete 12 courses (at least 36 credits), either offered by the Department of Jewish Studies or cross-listed by the department, with a grade of C or better in each course:
Required courses:
- 01:563:201 Jewish History I: Ancient and Medieval (3)
- 01:563:202 Jewish History II: Modern (3)
- 01:563:464 Research and Writing in Jewish Studies (3)
Students are advised to take the first two courses as early as possible in their studies, preferably before their junior year. Jewish History I is offered every Fall and Spring semester. Jewish History II is offered only in the Spring semester. The seminar is not regularly offered. In the Fall of your Junior year, plan a meeting with the Undergraduate Director, Prof. Michal Raucher, to discuss meeting this requirement.
Elective courses: Nine elective courses (at least 3 credits each).
