Learning Objectives
The objective of the
Arabic minor is to develop listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills
in Modern Standard Arabic to the advanced level, as based on the guidelines of the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Requirements
The minor program in Arabic consists of 20
credits, which must be completed with a grade of C or better in each course.
The minor in Arabic consists of four courses in Arabic language beyond the elementary level plus two additional courses:
- 01:013:201 Crossroads: Classical Literatures of Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia (3)
- 01:013:221 Introduction to the Literatures of the Middle East (3)
