The departmental honors
program enables students to pursue their individual interests in history and
helps prepare them for future research work or graduate study. Qualified students
take a two-semester honors thesis seminar (in the spring of the junior year and
fall of the senior year) and work with a faculty adviser to conduct original
historical research and write a thesis. Interested students should read the
program description available on the department website and discuss their plans
thoroughly and well in advance with a faculty adviser. Approval of the proposed
thesis topic by a faculty member who will serve as thesis adviser is required
for acceptance to the program. For more
information, see the department website: https://history.rutgers.edu/academics/undergraduate/honors-program.
