Hon. Dennis Braithwaite served as a state Superior Court Judge in
Atlantic County, and was a presiding judge in both the family and
criminal divisions, before moving to the Appellate Division until his
retirement in 2005. During his tenure, he authored approximately 75
published opinions and coauthored several more. He teaches Torts and Criminal Procedure Investigations.
Professor Braithwaite received B.S. cum laude from LaSalle University. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1973 and received a master's of law degree from the University of Virginia Law School in May 2001. From
August 1984 until his retirement, he served as a judge on the
Superior Court of New Jersey. The last eleven years of his tenure he was
a member of the Appellate Division, the State of New Jersey's
intermediate appellate court.
