Angela V. Baker graduated with honors from Rutgers College in New
Brunswick in 1982 and from Rutgers School of Law-Camden in 1985. She
worked as a law clerk for the Hon. Mary Ellen Talbott, Judge of the
Superior Court of New Jersey, and for three years as an assistant public advocate representing clients involuntarily committed to mental
hospitals. She taught Legal Research and Writing for several years in
the 1990's, and was the director of the Legal Research and Writing and
Academic Support programs. She then practiced law in a private firm for five
years, focusing on criminal defense and appeals. She returned to teach
at the law school in 2002, and was appointed assistant dean of the career planning and professional development in 2005. She is currently associate dean of students and diversity affairs.
