The Department of Cell
Biology and Neuroscience offers a program of study from which students can
select one of two tracks, depending upon particular interests and career goals:
a general track (default) and an honors track. Students can apply to enter the
honors track at the beginning of the senior year. This track requires a minimum
GPA of 3.4 in courses credited toward the major, and departmental approval. A
number of core courses are required of all students in the cell biology and
neuroscience major, regardless of the chosen track. No more than 16 credits
from among the life science courses required for completion of the cell biology
and neuroscience major may be fulfilled by credits transferred from any school
outside of Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Any life science courses applied
to the major should be taken within 10 years of graduating.
