The requirements for the Portuguese major are:
1.The satisfaction of all the core course requirements, either by placement into a higher course initially or by completing the course.
2.The satisfactory completion of an oral exam in Portuguese in the final year.
3.A total of 36 credits in Portuguese courses, or approved courses from other departments.

4.The completion of at least one 400-level course
5.Electives: Any 810 course at the 200-level or higher
