Students who minor in organizational leadership may pursue any major. The
minor features both theoretical and practical components. For its theoretical
segments, the minor draws from courses offered by the Organizational Leadership Program, the School of Arts and Sciences, departments in the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-New
Brunswick, and the School of Communication and Information. For its practical
components, the minor utilizes Rutgers student organizations and student's
connections to the workplace through their jobs or internships, as well as
other organizational relationships they have developed. The minor's objectives
are to cultivate and enhance student's organizational understanding,
interpersonal awareness, and leadership skills.The
minor's theory courses focus on formulating an ethically responsible vision
that promotes organizational excellence; understanding change; and how to persuade individuals and groups to work toward a common goal. Students are encouraged to supplement coursework through extracurricular
programs that provide an opportunity for the student to interact effectively with
their cohorts and to apply their knowledge of organizational leadership.
