The Department of Jewish Studies offers a comprehensive examination of all aspects of Jewish experience from an interdisciplinary perspective. The department addresses the historical, social, cultural, religious, and political life of Jews throughout the ages, from antiquity through the modern period. Jewish studies courses are open to all students.
Jewish studies offers courses that originate in the department and cross-listed courses that originate in other departments, both of which may be counted toward the Jewish studies major or minor. Credit is not given for both a Jewish studies course (01:563) and its corresponding cross-listed course.
