Engineering management is offered as a concentration within the professional science master's program described under Business and Science 137. The master of business and science (M.B.S.) degree with a concentration in engineering management covers a wide range of areas
including biomedical engineering, chemical and biochemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, industrial and systems engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and pharmaceutical engineering. As part of the M.B.S. degree, students take:
Eight technical courses (24
credits) in engineering/technology management
- three in general engineering management
- five electives from any specified area of engineering or
science
19 credits in business
For the 24 credits in the eight
technical courses, students choose three courses in general engineering management
and five courses from any specified area in engineering or science. These
engineering or science courses could be concentrated within a designated discipline,
or can be general. Outstanding Rutgers undergraduate students participating in
the 4 + 1 bachelor of science (B.S.)/M.B.S. degree program may take no more than 9 credits of graduate-level courses in their senior year in connection with this concentration.

Technical Electives (five
additional courses) Students can select courses
offered by the graduate engineering programs in the following areas: biomedical engineering, chemical and biochemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, industrial and systems engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and pharmaceutical engineering.
Alternatively, students can
select all five elective courses in one of the following engineering
subconcentrations: construction management, energy technologies, environmental engineering, forensic engineering, geotechnical engineering, industrial and systems engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, power engineering, sustainable materials, transportation and infrastructure and asset management, or a combination of the subconcentrations.
