Students wishing to major in this department must have been enrolled at Rutgers for at least one semester and have earned a C or better in general biology, general chemistry, and calculus. The Declaration of Major Form must be signed by the vice chair of genetics. A grade of C or better in courses credited toward the major is required for graduation.
