Department of Theater Arts, Mason Gross School of the Arts
The bachelor of arts (B.A.) program in theater arts is designed for those students seeking a liberal arts education coupled with a solid fundamental overview of theater. The program provides a high-quality, general perspective of theater encompassing academic study, production practice, and appropriate internships. Several opportunities exist for students to study abroad in university-sponsored programs. B.A. students enjoy several performing/production outlets with extracurricular theater organizations on campus: the Cabaret Theater, the College Avenue Players, Hillel Theater, and the Livingston Theater Company.
See the Mason Gross School of the Arts section for faculty listing and bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) information. Students who wish to specialize in acting, design, or production should consider auditioning or interviewing to be a B.F.A. student. Please note that casting and directing opportunities in departmental Rutgers Theater Company and Jameson Project productions are limited to B.F.A. and master of fine arts (M.F.A.) students.
