Geospatial information systems and technology is
offered as a concentration within the professional science master's program
described under
Business and Science 137. The objective of the master of business and science
degree with a concentration in geospatial information systems (GIS) and technology is
to provide students with advanced material on the theoretical basis of the
study of geospatial information; its diverse applications in science,
government, and commerce; and the societal/environmental implications of GIS
technology. As part of the coursework, students will be provided the
opportunity to become technically proficient in a variety of geospatial
technologies through hands-on instruction.
The GIS track consists of three required
GIS courses, one application course, and four electives. Additional electives
may be added to complement the core.
