21:090:170 Introduction to Data Science Professions (1) Introduction to Data Science Professions provides students an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the interdisciplinary field of data science. Careers in data science offer highly competitive salaries with growth opportunities and span the public and private sectors. With such opportunities come increasing demands for well-prepared, well-trained students who are well positioned for industry and research careers upon completing their undergraduate degrees. This course introduces students to the career paths that benefit from an education in the collection, analyzation, and summarization of data and provides them with the information, resources, and professional networks to assist with planning and preparing for careers in data science.
21:090:175 Introduction to Data & Technology Professions (1) Introduction to Data and Technology Professions is designed to provide students with professional development needed to thrive in careers including but not limited to data science, mathematics, computer science, technology, physics, and graphic design industries. In these industries are careers that use factual information as the basis for reason, decision and calculation, and implementing knowledge to solve problems. This is often performed by using computers to manage, process, and communicate information. Through guest speakers, class discussions, readings, and event attendance, students will gain an understanding of the competencies, professionalism, and decision-making skills needed to succeed in many intensive based Data and Technology driven industries. Students will be provided with information, resources, and tools to assist with planning and preparing for a career in these fields. Additionally, students in this course will be part of
the Data & Technology Professions Learning Community.

21:090:180 Introduction to Legal Professions (1) Introduction to Legal Professions is designed to provide students with an overview to the various legal professions and appropriate academic planning for the pursuit of a law school education. Through guest speakers, class discussions, readings, and event attendance, students will gain an understanding of the competencies, professionalism, and decision-making skills needed to succeed in legal professions. Students will be provided with information, resources, and tools to assist with planning and preparing for a career in the legal profession and entering law school. Additionally, students in this course will be part of the Legal Professions Learning Community

21:090:190 Introduction to Health Professions (1) Introduction to Health Professions is designed to provide students with an overview of the various health professions. Through guest speakers, class discussions, readings, and event attendance, students will gain an understanding of the competencies, professionalism, and decision-making skills needed to succeed in health professions. Students will be provided with information, resources, and tools to assist with planning and preparing for a career in a health profession. Additionally, students in this course will be part of the Health Professions Learning Community

21:090:199 Helix: Health Education Leadership and Interprofessional Practice (3) Helix: Health Education Leadership and Interprofessional Practice is a course designed to provide undergraduate students with the knowledge, skills, and approaches to impact the health and healthcare of our communities. Through guest speakers, class discussions, readings, and event attendance, students will gain an understanding of the competencies, professionalism, and decision-making skills needed to succeed in health professions. Topic areas include: health equity; emerging health care issues; communication; academic skills; and inter-professional practice and education. Students will be provided with information, resources, and tools to assist with academic success in order to prepare for a career in a health profession.
