Introduction to Neuroscience (3)
This course provides an introduction to the field of neuroscience. It covers general principles of nervous system structure and function, from the subcellular level to whole-brain activity. Specific topics include nervous system physiology and anatomy, synaptic communication, the neural basis of perception, motor control, learning, emotion, and higher cognitive functions. Diseases of the nervous system will also be addressed.

Undergraduate Neuroscience Career Seminar (1)
The Undergraduate Neuroscience Career Seminar provides students the opportunity to interact with Rutgers neuroscience faculty in a weekly seminar series. This course will highlight various careers in neuroscience research, and/or the application of neuroscience research to clinical practice. Additionally, this course will help students identify potential neuroscience research labs and mentors on campus with whom they might carry out a research internship in subsequent semesters. The course is designed for students who are majoring in Neuroscience & Behavior, or minoring in Cognitive Neuroscience. All students will be expected to have previously taken either Introduction to Psychology or Introduction to Biology.
