Rutgers University-Newark and NJIT enjoy an exceptionally close and productive relationship within the thriving University Heights section of Newark. Rutgers University-Newark students may borrow from the Robert W. Van Houten Library of NJIT. Proof of current registration at Rutgers University-Newark and proof of address are required. Rutgers University-Newark undergraduate students may also enrich their educational experiences by enrolling in NJIT courses in areas not offered at Rutgers University-Newark with the written permission from their academic advisement office. Joint or cooperative degree programs now exist in several graduate and undergraduate fields, including the bachelor's programs in biology, computer science, environmental science, and history. As a result of this relationship, the opportunities available to students at both schools are greatly enhanced.
