Majors and minors completing degree
requirements will be proficient in their understanding of the role of plants in
agriculture, society, and
the environment, as well as apply basic principles and practices of the plant
sciences to environmental surroundings.They will also be able to communicate, in verbal and written forms, plant science knowledge with other experts and to transmit plant
science information to society.
Students completing major requirements will
be able to think critically to formulate hypotheses, interpret data, and solve
practical and/or fundamental problems in the plant sciences as they enter business industry or graduate studies in related fields.
