Upon completion of our major, we expect
our students to have mastered the ability to:
1. attain a conceptual understanding of global
change and its drivers;
2. describe the evolutionary origins and maintenance of biodiversity;
3. understand the biotic and abiotic factors that affect distributions of organisms;
4. develop proficiency in field and laboratory techniques to study ecology,
evolution, and natural resources;
5. develop oral and written communication skills;
6. understand scientific methods and develop proficiency at evidence-based
reasoning; and
7. understand social aspects of ecological issues and the value of natural
resources.
