Upon graduation, students will have an understanding of the following:
1. Fundamental concepts in chemistry, physiology, evolution, and biochemistry
2. State-of-the-art laboratory techniques
3. Written and oral presentations, assessing and interpreting primary papers, and design follow-up experiments
4. The ethical issues in the molecular life sciences
5. The ability to think in an integrated manner and analyze at a problem
from diverse perspectives, from the molecular to the whole organism to
the ecosystem
