Students who successfully complete the program in animal science will:
1. Attain an overview of the animal science discipline in order to understand the future of the field and to appreciate its diversity.
2. Integrate basic biology and mathematical principles to be able to understand and assess higher concepts in animal physiology, nutrition, genetics, and reproduction.
3. Develop the ability to design and conduct experiments, critically analyze scientific data, and present the information in an understandable manner.
4. Communicate professional and/or technical information effectively (orally, in writing, and through electronic media).
5. Garner an appreciation for the daily care of domesticated animals as well as demonstrate the ability to handle and respect them.
