Learning Objectives
The objective of the Swahili minor is to develop listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills in Swahili to the advanced level, as based on the guidelines of the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). As the Swahili minor focuses on developing skills in Swahili, it is only available to students who have completed the entire track of courses offered in Swahili (that is, it is not available to those students who have demonstrated existing proficiency in Swahili and have placed out of the lower levels of the language upon entry to Rutgers).
