Learning Objectives
The objective of the
Arabic minor is to develop listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills
in Modern Standard Arabic to the advanced level, as based on the guidelines of the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). As the Arabic minor focuses upon developing
skills in Modern Standard Arabic, it is only available to students who have
completed the entire track of courses offered in Modern Standard Arabic (that
is, it is not available to those students who have demonstrated existing
proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and have placed out of the lower levels
of the language upon entry to Rutgers).
Requirements
The minor program in Arabic consists of 22
credits, which must be completed with a grade of C or better in each course.
