The departmental honors program enables students to pursue their individual interests in history and helps prepare them for future research work or graduate study. Qualified seniors take two semesters of special honors seminars and work with a faculty adviser on a major research paper. Interested students should read the program description available at the history department and discuss their plans thoroughly and well in advance with a faculty adviser. Approval of the research program by a faculty sponsor who serves as director is required for admission to the program.
