Dean Scales received his
undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned
his J.D. from the University of Michigan. He joined the law school after
teaching for 14 years at Washington and Lee University School of Law. His areas
of expertise include administrative law, insurance, and torts. Dean Scales is
the author of six published articles on topics like corporate succession in
insurance, the evolution of accidental death insurance, and flood insurance. He
is also a codirector of the Rutgers Center for Risk and Responsibility at the
School of Law–Camden.
