Professor Feinman
earned his B.A. summa cum laude at American University and his J.D. cum
laude at the University of Chicago Law School, where he was comment editor
of the law review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He is a member of the
New Jersey Bar. Professor Feinman taught at the University of Miami School of
Law and practiced law in Philadelphia before joining the Rutgers School of
Law–Camden faculty. He has also taught at Northwestern University and
universities in Austria and Taiwan. His many publications include Delay,
Deny, Defend: Why Insurance Companies Don't Pay Claims and What You Can Do
About It;
Law 101: Everything You Need to
Know About American Law; five other books; and
more
than 50 scholarly articles. Professor Feinman has served as chair of the
Association of American Law Schools Section on Contracts and Section on
Teaching Methods. He is a member of the American Law Institute and an Advisor
to the Restatement Third of Torts: Liability for Economic Loss. With Professors
Scales and Swedloff, he is a member of the law school's Center for Risk and
Responsibility. He lectures frequently to trial lawyer and insurance industry
groups.
