Dean Baker graduated with honors from Rutgers College in New
Brunswick in 1982 and from Rutgers' School of Law-Camden in 1985. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She
worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Mary Ellen Talbott, J.S.C., and
for
three years as an assistant public advocate representing clients
involuntarily committed to mental hospitals. She taught legal
research and writing for several years in the 1990s and was the
director of the legal research and writing and academic support
programs. She then practiced law in a private firm for five years,
focusing on criminal defense and appeals. She returned to teach
at the law school in 2002, and was appointed assistant dean in
2005. In this position, she helps students discover the best
legal posts for them by exploring fields through
internships, summer positions, and externships. She also assists
them in planning their careers so that they can reach their ultimate
goals. |
