Legal Research and Writing Faculty. Mr. Abate earned his
B.A. in psychology and philosophy at the University of Rochester
in 1986, and his J.D. and M.S.E.L. in environmental law and policy at
Vermont Law School in 1989. From 1989-1992, he was legal writing
instructor at Vermont Law School. In 1997, he joined the faculty at
Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as a
legal methods professor and, from 1998-2001, he was a visiting
associate professor and director of the legal methods program at
Widener-Harrisburg. In addition to teaching the first-year legal
writing curriculum at Rutgers-Camden since 2001, Mr. Abate teaches
international environmental law, environmental law and business, ocean
and coastal law, and advanced torts. He also coaches the
international environmental moot court team and the national moot court
team. His most recent articles on environmental and international
environmental law topics have appeared in the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy, Environmental Law Reporter, NYU Environmental Law Journal, and Pace International Law Review.
Between his years in academia at Vermont and Widener-Harrisburg, Mr.
Abate worked on environmental law matters at the Manhattan law firm
Berle, Kass & Case and at the New York City office of Arnold &
Porter. |
