School of Management and Labor Relations 2022-2024 Five-Year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science/Master of Labor and Employment Relations Degree Program Program

Program

Students who graduate with an undergraduate major in labor studies and employment relations may be able to complete a master's degree in labor and employment relations on an accelerated timetable. When they enter the program, undergraduate majors may waive as many as 9 credits of graduate work normally required for the advanced degree. In addition, they may be able to take two graduate-level courses while they are undergraduate students. If these two courses are creditable beyond the 120 credits needed to obtain the B.A. degree, they may be counted toward the graduate degree.

Students interested in this program should first become a major. Then in their junior year, they should speak to an advisor or the graduate program director about what to take to be ready for the graduate program. The formal application to the five-year version of the master's program should be submitted to Rutgers Graduate Admissions early in the final semester before graduation.
