The environmental health and safety track in the environmental sciences major is an interdisciplinary program among the Departments of Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, and the Rutgers School of Public Health. The goal of this program is to give students a well-rounded background in the factors and practices that promote environmental health and safety. The program prepares students to pursue careers in environmental health and safety, public health, and medicine among others. It is a 4+1 program earning a bachelor of science degree in 4 years and part of a master's degree in public health. Completion of the masters in public health is designed to require one additional year at the Rutgers School of Public Health.
This program requires students to earn a minimum GPA of 3.1 in their first 60 credits and to be accepted into the graduate program at the Rutgers School of Public Health in their junior or senior year.
The environmental health and safety track in the environmental sciences major is exempt from the minor requirement. It requires at least 63 credits in the following courses:
