The department offers major programs in Spanish (940) and Portuguese and Lusophone World Studies (812). It also offers minors in Spanish, Portuguese, Latin American Studies (590), Latina/o Studies (597), and Translation and Interpreting Studies (942).  Students majoring in one language area may concurrently major or minor in another language area. The department also participates in a multidisciplinary minor in international affairs, and the Rutgers Study Abroad Program. It offers courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, Italian, and linguistics.
