The
anthropology major offered by Newark College of Arts and Sciences
requires 33 credits as follows: 1. All majors are required to successfully pass (with a grade of C or better) 27 credits in anthropology that must include:
21:070:204 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology
21:070:220 Anthropological Theory and Methods
21:070:492 Seminar in Anthropology (topics vary by year, prerequisites: 21:070:204 and 21:355:102 English Composition or 21:355:104 Honors English Composition, or permission of instructor)
2. Additional 18 credits (six courses) of anthropology courses are needed.
3. Additional 6 credits (two courses) of electives can be taken from anthropology or sociology. With departmental approval, related courses offered in other departments may be applied toward the major.
