Students are placed on academic warning after earning a semester grade-point average below 2.000 for the first time or immediately following a semester of satisfactory academic standing (2.000 or higher semester GPA). A notification of warning status detailing requirements necessary for return to satisfactory academic standing is sent to the student¿s Rutgers email address. During the semester of academic warning status, students are not permitted to register for more than 16 credits and may be assigned advising conditions including meeting with an academic advisor or participation in a college success workshop. Students are returned restored to satisfactory academic standing upon earning a semester grade-point average of 2.000 or higher. Additionally, students placed on academic warning may be required to participate in specialized programs or courses designed to help them return to satisfactory academic standing. Failure to comply with the conditions of warning may result in further restrictions on registration or academic suspension or dismissal.
