01:574:201,202Intermediate Korean (4,4) Development of oral proficiency, practice in reading comprehension, composition, study of grammar, and vocabulary building. Prerequisite: 01:574:102 or equivalent.
01:574:301,302Advanced Korean (3,3) Study of advanced vocabulary and grammar through reading texts in various styles. Practice in composition and refinement of oral proficiency. Prerequisite: 01:574:202 or equivalent.
01:574:303Advanced Korean for Business I (3) Reading and discussion of business, culture, and society; specialized vocabulary, social skills, and practice in business correspondence. Prerequisite: 01:574:202 or equivalent.

Korean literary fiction and poetry of the 20th century and their versions in English translations. Films as another mode of translation with its own language and grammar. 01:574:471Korea in Translations: Contemporary Media (3) Expository and journalistic writings with attention to contemporary language of the mass media. Broadcast news, documentary films, as well as newspaper and magazine articles studied and translated into English. Prerequisite: 01:574:302 or equivalent.
01:574:495,496Independent Study in Korean (3,3) Independent reading under supervision of a member of the department. Prerequisites: Permission of instructor and department.
