Candidates for honors in art history must, at the end of their
junior year, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and
an average of 3.5 or better in the major. In their senior year,
students enroll in 01:082:497-498, in which independent research on a
specific topic is undertaken, and an honors thesis is written under the
supervision of a department faculty member. The committee determines
whether the candidate merits honors based on the thesis and the
student's overall record. For a more complete description of the honors
program guidelines, refer to the art history web site.
