Amy Widman joined Rutgers in 2019 and teaches Legal Analysis, Writing,
and Research. Previously, she was an associate professor of law at
Northern Illinois University College of Law. She has taught Torts, Administrative Law Federal Courts, Legislation, Policy Advocacy, and Advanced Writing Seminars.
Professor Widman's scholarship focuses on access to civil justice and
consumer protection. Her research has been published in the Harvard
Journal on Legislation, the Cardozo Law Review, the Florida Law Review,
the NYU Annual Survey of American Law, the Yale Law and Policy Review,
the Journal of Law and Policy, the Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and
Social Justice, and in other legal and peer-reviewed journals, books,
congressional testimony, and court documents.
Professor Widman received a J.D. from New York University Law School and
a B.A. in comparative literature and creative writing from Northwestern
University. She clerked for Magistrate Judge Theodore H. Katz of the
U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a
member of the New York bar.
