Emily Brennan joined Rutgers Law School as director of communications and marketing in February 2018 and is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies for Rutgers Law School across multiple platforms including external media, social media, collateral print marketing materials, and the institutional website while adhering to university brand and editorial standards and maintaining compliance with ABA website standards.
Prior to joining Rutgers, she oversaw digital communications, digital marketing, and content strategy as the senior digital communications specialist at Penn Law. She was also responsible for social media management, digital campaign projects, and spearheading website redesigns and RFP processes. During her tenure at Penn, she successfully ran two winning Webby Award campaigns for Best Law Website in 2013 and 2014, positively impacted fundraising efforts and enrollment in revenue stream programming, and presented at the Ivy+ Social Media peer group conference on cross-school collaboration. Prior to her career in higher education, she was a freelance copywriter for a number of apps and startups, including popular travel website Hipmunk, as well as hosting Radio Disney AM640's "The Backyard Show" on-air in the Greater Philadelphia area.
She earned an M.L.A. with a focus on media and cinema studies from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a B.A. from La Salle University, where she graduated with honors and double majored in communications and English with a minor in digital art and multimedia design. She volunteers as the director of marketing for Haddonfield Plays & Players and served on the La Salle University Communications Department Alumni Advisory Board.
