The master of public policy (M.P.P.) and master of city and regional planning (M.C.R.P.) dual-degree may be completed in three years of full-time study. This is a savings of 24 credits (8 courses) compared to separately earning the 48-credit M.C.R.P. and the 48-credit M.P.P. degrees.
The dual-degree program consists of 11 elective courses and 13 policy and planning core courses (Public Policy Formation; Basic Quantitative Methods; Research Design, Applied Multivariate Methods; Planning Methods; History and Theory of Planning; Economics of Public Policy; Survey of Planning Law Principles; a policy management requirement; a policy finance requirement; two Graduate Planning studios or one 6-credit Practicum; and the Applied Field Experience). Four of the electives must constitute a planning concentration and three of the electives must constitute a policy concentration.
