Combined Five-Year B.A./M.A.T.
A combined five-year theater education program--bachelor of arts (B.A.) and master of arts in teaching (M.A.T.)--is designed for students interested in active careers in theater and education. Students enrolled in the program will receive a liberal arts education focusing on one of the theater program concentrations: acting, musical theater, design and technology, or filmmaking. During the fourth year of the combined program, students will be taking classes toward their M.A.T. degree.
The fifth year of the combined program (fall and spring) will be focused on practice and supervised by a teacher licensed to teach theater. The program aligns with the N.J. Department of Education code requirements. Upon completion of the M.A.T. program, students will receive their initial license to teach in public and private schools.
To successfully transition into the M.A.T. program during their senior year of undergraduate studies, students must take three M.A.T program classes and complete the following requirements:-

- 3.0 GPA in bachelor's degree or better
