The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers undergraduate programs that prepare students for professional careers as well as further studies in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and other related fields. The department also collaborates with the Teacher Education program to offer an accelerated bachelor of arts (B.A.) in mathematics-teaching option and master of arts in teaching program, which enables students to obtain New Jersey instructional certificates in five years.
Following are the options that students may choose according to
their field of interest. Students interested in becoming teachers of mathematics should choose the B.A. in mathematics-teaching option.
To qualify for a bachelor degree in mathematics, the student must achieve a grade of C or better on all required mathematics classes.
