The combined
MSW/MA in CJ program
offers students the opportunity to develop expertise in criminal justice policy
and research with the study of clinical practice and human services. In
cooperation with Rutgers School of
Social Work and
Rutgers School of Criminal Justice, the social
work curriculum will emphasize the systems and perspectives of populations and
individuals, while coursework in criminal justice will prepare students to
think critically about the issues of crime and social control. Specific topic
areas may include issues such as police-community relations, incarceration,
violence prevention, and juvenile justice. Overall, program graduates will be
prepared to advance social justice within criminal legal systems and inspire
interdisciplinary innovation in the field.
